Julie had a big weekend, she took a weekend trip to New York City with her friend Amanda. She got a lot of good quality time at her favorite place on earth, the Peloton Studio. She crammed in a bunch of workouts (4 cycle and 1 tread) and got to meet her favorite instructors afterward. Julie timed the trip so that she did her 700th ride live in studio! She sat in the front row and got a shoutout from her favorite instructor Ally Love! 700 rides is amazing! I am extremely proud of all the hard work she has put in. It is probably going to take me another 5 years to hit that number. Even though I wasn’t there physically, I celebrated with her virtually. I did my 100th ride during one of the same classes live from our basement. It was pretty awesome.
Carter had a huge Saturday, his robotics team competed in the Vex IQ Challenge. They have to drive their robots on an 8’x6′ area and try to move boxes or place balls to get points. Here is a video that does a much better job of explaining it. There were 80 teams of 4 kids from a bunch of area schools. The gym and cafeteria was a madhouse for the entire day. Carter’s school sent 6 teams and came away with 1st and 2nd place! His team didn’t win but they did get their school’s Certificate of Excellence.
I took Julie to go see her other boyfriend for her birthday. Justin Timberlake sure knows how to put on show! The best part was Emery’s favorite song which he saved for the very end… Can’t stop the feeling!!
Ten short years married, plus almost five more years dating makes that a total of fifteen years! Fifteen years that Pookie has put up with my awesomeness and all of my deficiencies. Our team is even stronger now that it grew by two. Go team Wassmer! Happy Anniversary!
To my loving wife… the super mom, devoted runner, selfie master (see below), dancing super star, worry wart, ice cream stealing, HR ninja… it was a great year. Car-car-tar-tar, apple-sauce-chicken-nugget, and I love you and hope you have an awesome birthday!
Two short months after Carter popped out of the oven and Julie is already running again. When she was pregnant she decided to set a goal to run the Parkie’s 5k Race and she did it! This weekend she ran this race with our friend Jen and got a 29.19.
Carter and I watched from the roadside and cheered her on. Actually I did all the cheering while Carter just did some sleeping. Here’s a video from the beginning of the race.
One thing that I’ve learned being a father is that children books are short and rhyme. The books are short so you have to read them over and over again to pass the time. After reading the books a million times, the rhyming really gets in your head. As you can see from the following video Julie has completely lost her sanity. Hopefully a night out with the girls and a little alcohol will help bring her back to reality.
