Emery has been keeping busy the past week. Besides having daily wrestling matches with her brother, she has also had a few play dates with friends. We also had to try out Emery’s new ice skates so so we went skating. As you can see below, Emery loves to be on the ice. She is still using the walker but getting much more comfortable and able to zoom around at a pretty good pace.
It was kind of a late Christmas present but I surprised Emery with a new closet system in her room. Her old hanger bar was too high so now she can pull down her clothes without getting a ladder out. Plus she now has a ton more shelves to fit all of the other stuff that was piling up on the floor.
We finally got Emery on the ice and of course, she loved it. She was all smiles except for the few times she landed on her butt. Carter was great too! He made it around a bunch of times on his own, before he got tired and used the scooter. Thank goodness for those scooters, they really saved my back.
I just realized that I hadn’t posted anything for a couple weeks. There really hasn’t been much going on around here hence the hiatus, but this weekend we had a bit of action.
We kicked this weekend off with the Home Depot Kids Workshop. Carter built sports bookends and painted them his favorite color, bright orange. Sunday, Carter and I snuck out of the house and went ice skating at Rocket Arena. He did amazing for his second time! Carter scooted around the rink using an awesome running man technique. Check out the video below! Mom and Emery stayed home and had quality time together. As we say, girls with the girls and boy with the boys!
I have been wanting to take Carter ice skating and we finally did. The Rocket Arena was a really nice facility in Bolingbrook and was perfect for Carter’s first attempt at skating. He mostly did “the running man” but never gave up and had a huge smile on his face the entire time! As an added bonus we got to see some 11/12 year olds play hockey as we were leaving. Carter liked the action but I thought Julie was going to pass out after a kid got checked pretty hard.
